After nearly five decades as one of rock's most distinctive bass players, Fleasteps into solo territory with Honora, his first full-length solo album and a project rooted in the musical language that first drew him in: jazz and trumpet. Written and arranged by Flea, the album brings together original compositions and carefully chosen interpretations, with a cast that includes producer and saxophonist Josh Johnson, Jeff Parker, Anna Butterss and Deantoni Parks, alongside vocal contributions from Thom Yorke and Nick Cave. Honora balances groove-led instrumental writing with a looser, exploratory feel shaped by Flea's return to the trumpet. Highlights include "Traffic Lights," co-written with Thom Yorke and Josh Johnson, and "A Plea," with further material drawing on compositions by George Clinton and Eddie Hazel, Jimmy Webb, Frank Ocean and Shea Taylor, and Ann Ronell.
