Originally released in 1975, Revolution Dub is one of Lee "Scratch" Perry's most groundbreaking studio creations - a visionary work that helped redefine dub music. Recorded at his newly built Black Ark Studio in Kingston, Jamaica, the album captures Perry and The Upsetters at a point of pure experimentation, exploring space, rhythm, and texture with fearless innovation. This record showcases early use of drum machines, heavy stereo panning, unpredictable rhythmic drops, and snippets of sampled TV dialogue - an astonishing precursor to modern sampling and remix culture.
